The Household

A welcoming private household comprising two adults with regular visiting guests is seeking an experienced, professional Housekeeper to maintain their beautiful home to an exceptional standard. Their current housekeeper who has been with them for 25 years is retiring.

There is the possibility of accommodation for the three days worked for the right candidate.

Duties

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily cleaning and housekeeping to an immaculate standard
  • Laundry and wardrobe care
  • Ironing to a high standard
  • Cleaning and caring for silver
  • Careful cleaning of antiques and delicate furnishings
  • Cleaning internal windows
  • Preparing guest bedrooms and bathrooms prior to arrivals
  • Receiving and managing deliveries
  • Answering the door and assisting with household errands as required
  • Maintaining an organised, well-presented home at all times

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working within a high-end private household
  • Be confident caring for antiques, fine furnishings and valuable household items
  • Be proactive with excellent initiative and able to work independently
  • Have meticulous attention to detail and high housekeeping standard
  • Must be discreet
  • Be dog-friendly and comfortable working around pets
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have use of their own vehicle

The Ideal Person

This role would suit an experienced private Housekeeper who enjoys taking pride in maintaining a beautiful home, is highly organised, and can anticipate the needs of the household with minimal supervision.
