We have a warm, friendly family based in Suffolk looking for a nanny / housekeeper to join them on a long-term basis, ideally starting anytime before July. We're hoping to find someone who will become a real part of the family and stay with us for many years.
They have three children – a busy (!) 5-year-old boy at school, a 3-year-old girl in nursery, and a 4-month-old baby boy– so are looking for someone experienced, capable, and very comfortable managing multiple children. The role is shared care, as they are often around, so it's important that the person is happy to follow their lead with the children when they are around, while being confident working independently at other times.
Alongside childcare, a key part of the role is keeping the household running smoothly to a very high standard. They are looking for someone who takes real pride in maintaining a clean, organised, and well-run home – not just tidying, but creating order, keeping on top of laundry, and ensuring everything is in the right place. They would like the candidate to take ownership and lead on housekeeping responsibilities.
The right person would also:
• Have a flexible approach to hours, including the ability to bank hours and scale up during school holidays and occasional weekends
• Be a strong and confident driver
•Able to cook fresh, healthy family style meals when required [usually just for children but it would be a bonus if you were happy to cook for the adults too]
• Be happy to muck in across all aspects of family life
• Be happy with a mix of childcare and housekeeping depending on the week [ i.e. the family accept that when there is more childcare needed, the housekeeping will take a back seat... i.e. during school holidays]
• Have a fun, positive energy and genuinely enjoy spending time with children
• Be open to occasional overnight stays and potentially travel with the family
• Be comfortable around dogs
• Have their own car
