HOUSEKEEPER, PRIVATE ESTATE HEREFORDSHIRE
To commence employment end of March / start of April
Private estate requires an experienced full-time housekeeper to join their team in Herefordshire.
The home is a rural working farm with a large house and several auxiliary cottages and outbuildings. The city of Hereford is a fifteen-minute drive away.
The principals live full time in Herefordshire, with occasional midweek commuting to London for work and some travel abroad. They have family and friends who visit on a regular basis.
Applicants will need to be child and dog friendly, but direct duties relating to childcare are not required.
Live-out position.
Please note, the successful candidate will be offered the position subject to a trial period (at a minimum two days working on site), extensive reference checks (both written and verbal), advance DBS checks, as well as signing an NDA. Candidates will also need to provide evidence of any qualifications held and have a full UK driver's licence.
Working schedule and times
- Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, either 8am – 5pm, 8.30am – 5.30pm or 9am – 6pm
- Candidates will be required to work some midweek evenings, weekend days or weekends throughout the year and on these occasions their working hours or days off may differ
- Every other year there is a requirement to work over the Christmas bank holiday
Requirements
- Fluent English
- UK driver's license and confident driver
- Past housekeeping experience in Private Estate setting or luxury hospitality setting (at least 2 years)
- High standard of cleaning, laundry duties and house organisation
- Good attention to detail and time keeping
- Flexible and energetic
- Team player
Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning of house / auxiliary properties
- Preparing guest rooms or auxiliary cottages for guests
- Laundry, including washing and ironing
- Linen cupboard management
- Stock management
- Errands (eg post office, dry cleaner, drop off at train station) as needed
- House checks as needed
- Serving at table if needed
- Organisation of recycling material and management of waste removal on bin day
