Live-in security and house & dog-sitting position, responsible for part-time cover for the security of a large Historic House open to the public, near Peterborough. The post requires that you live on site, accommodation is a two-bedroom flat on the second floor with private entrance.
The role would suit someone retired/sem retired perhaps with an early pension, or a military, or police background.
The role is providing cover for full time staff.
· You will be responsible for on-call security and house & dog sitting for, on average, 30 mid-week nights and up to ten weekends per year.
· You will also need to provide cover for 25 full mid-week days, when the full-time security person is on holiday or off duty, the hours will be 8am to 5.30pm with an hour for lunch.
· You will also need to work up to 30 afternoons, end of May to Sept, providing security and room stewarding when the house is open to the public. The hours will be 1.30pm to 5.30pm.
· Ability to work other hours as needed, by agreement.
The job requires a responsible person with commitment and who enjoys being part of a small team. A flexible approach is essential.
Typical duties would be, but not limited to, security, room stewarding, house & general maintenance, walking dogs, clearing and laying fires and bringing up logs, grass and hedge cutting.
No formal qualifications are required but the position requires a practical person with a love of dogs.
The individual must be physically fit, trustworthy, honest and be fluent in English.
Start date negotiable to the right candidate.
Non-smoker and Full Driving License essential.
Basic fixed gross salary of £7,500 per annum for up to:
· 30 mid-week nights and 10 weekends, for on-call security and house & dog sitting.
· 25 full mid-week days security and house maintenance.
· 30 afternoons security and room stewarding.
Additional on-call security and hours, to those listed above, by agreement and paid separately.
