CORE DUTIES, ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS 

Core duties
Your duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Housekeeping
· Keeping the house and everything in it clean, tidy, safe and in good working order
· Cleaning, hoovering, dusting, polishing, sweeping, mopping etc
· Tidying the house and organising cupboards
· Managing the cleaning products and equipment (inform us if anything needs replenishing)
· Washing dishes and emptying and loading the dishwasher 
· Maintenance of wooden floors and surfaces (oiling where necessary)
· Doing all laundry, including washing, air drying, hand washing and ironing (taking items to dry cleaner if necessary) and putting away
· Changing sheets and towels weekly, and keeping the linen cupboard in order
· Managing the bins (taking rubbish out to the bins and fruit/veg waste to the compost)
· Preparing the house for guests (beds, flowers, water) and tidying afterwards
· Accepting post and deliveries
· Taking all glass away to be recycled 
· Unpacking the shopping (doing grocery and household shopping when required)
· Keeping the 'shopping list' (blackboard) up to date
· Making fires and replenishing log baskets and kindling
· Fixing or arranging someone to fix any equipment or appliances that break
· Window cleaning (or arranging someone else to do it)
· Cleaning the cars occasionally
· Some cooking potentially (following cooking course or lessons!)

Child-care
· Helping to look after our son and daughter when required during working hours, including covering for our nanny when she is away
· Possible nursery drop-offs and pick-ups in the future

Pet care
· Looking after our dog (and any future dogs) when necessary: letting her in and out of the house, taking her on walks when helpful and feeding her if we are out

Garden maintenance
· Using flowers from the garden in the house (seasonal)
· Picking, washing and freezing fresh fruit and vegetables (seasonal)

Security in our absence
· Attending during working hours as usual and keeping an eye on the house
· Ensuring windows and doors are locked and alarm is on
· Being a Key Holder if the burglar or fire alarms go off

Possible additional responsibilities 
On an ad hoc basis (additional overtime pay on an hourly/daily rate to be agreed):

· Running general household errands as required
· Managing any contractors if we are away
· Babysitting when our nanny is unavailable
· Evening/weekend washing up and tidying when we have guests
· Looking after our animals when we are away
